This Privacy Policy explains how Misty Lackie (“I,” “me” or “my”) collects, uses and protects information when you visit mistylackie.com (the “Site”), subscribe to Founder Notes, or contact me about speaking or consulting. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here.
Information I collect
Information you give me. When you use the contact form, I collect your name, email address, the topic you’re interested in, and anything else you choose to share, such as your company or event name, event date and message. When you subscribe to Founder Notes, I collect your email address.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, the Site’s hosting provider may automatically log technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, device, the pages you view and the date and time of your visit.
How I use your information
I use the information I collect to:
- Respond to your inquiries about speaking, consulting or anything else
- Send Founder Notes and related updates if you subscribed
- Operate, maintain, secure and improve the Site
- Comply with legal obligations and protect my rights
I do not sell your personal information.
Founder Notes newsletter
If you subscribe, I’ll email you roughly once a week. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time. You can also ask me to remove you by contacting me directly.
How information is shared
I share information only as needed to run the Site and my business:
- Service providers. The Site is hosted by Netlify, which also processes form submissions. Newsletter emails may be sent through an email service provider. These providers handle data on my behalf and only as needed to provide their services.
- Legal reasons. I may disclose information if required by law, subpoena or other legal process, or to protect the rights, property or safety of me or others.
- Business transfers. If my business is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
Cookies
The Site may use cookies or similar technologies that are necessary for it to function and stay secure. You can set your browser to refuse or delete cookies; some parts of the Site may not work as intended if you do.
How long I keep information
I keep contact form submissions and newsletter subscriptions for as long as needed to respond to you, maintain our relationship, or meet legal and business requirements. You can ask me to delete your information at any time.
Security
I use reasonable measures to protect the information you share, and the Site is served over a secure (HTTPS) connection. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so I can’t guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
You can ask me to access, correct or delete the personal information I hold about you, or to stop sending you emails. To make a request, contact me using the details below.
If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under California law, including the right to know what personal information is collected about you and the right to request its deletion. I will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
Children’s privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided me with personal information, please contact me and I will delete it.
